QUENCH YOUR THIRST!

Are you looking to beat the summer heat? Local restaurants, cafes and pop-up shops in the Bay of Quinte have you covered with local craft beer, specialty cocktails, refreshing lemonades or a caffeine kick. Here are eight Quinte quenchers to cool you down when a dip in the lake is off the menu.

Some services may be limited at this time, like patio-only dining and take-out. Call ahead or visit each restaurant, brewery or cafe’s social media pages for updates.

The Lark is a Belleville favourite, located in the heart of downtown. It boasts a cocktail menu of classics with a twist, including the Blood Orange Paloma.

With tequila, salt, lime, blood orange, soda and garnished with dried citrus, this cocktail is the cousin of the margarita.

The perfect balance between tart and fruity, the Blood Orange Paloma is sure to become a summertime staple. Pair it with the Lark’s Asada tacos and suddenly a beach vacation doesn’t seem so far away.

LEMON SHOT, THE GRIND AND VINE

Need a midday boost but want to keep it fresh? The Grind and Vine’s Lemon Shot checks all the boxes.

This iced drink is simple and delicious—double shot espresso, lemonade and vanilla… because you should never have to compromise between sweet, sour and savoury.

Located in downtown Trenton, be sure to check out the Grind and Vine’s delicious baked goods, or transition to happy hour with a glass of wine (the vine to the grind!).

Are you looking for the ultimate patio sipper? Napanee Beer Company’s Deadline Premium Blonde Lager is it!

Crisp, clean and refreshing, this beer has subtle floral notes and pairs well with barbecue.

Is there anything that screams summer more than a cold beer and burgers? With free local delivery in Napanee and shipping across Ontario, your new summer go-to is but a shipment away.

FRESH SQUEEZED LEMONADE, LEMONS

Nothing screams summer like freshly squeezed lemonade!

Thankfully, Lemons is open at Pop-Ups on the Bay in West Zwick’s Park with 11 different flavours like Mango Dragonfruit, Blue Raspberry and Cotton Candy (which comes with actual cotton candy on top!).

The ice cream truck is so yesterday, lemonade is the supreme summer sugar fix!

VOLT, SIGNAL BREWING COMPANY

Blackberry and vanilla bean flavours lead the ‘supercharged’ sour from Signal Brewing Company. And just look at that colour!

Pair it with their patio on the Moira River and you’re in for a treat.

Located in Corbyville (just north of Highway 401), Signal is home to excellent craft beers and a stunning event space that is sure to be hopping with live music someday again soon!

Keep an eye on their events page for the latest shows.

Looking for a classic? Tomasso’s Negroni is it—and if it isn’t already a staple in your go-to cocktail list, it’s worth a shot (literally!).

Family owned and operated since 1970 in Trenton’s downtown, Tomasso’s is the spot to get your Italian food fix; the view of the Trent River is just an added bonus.

This Aperitivo will be just the start to a delicious evening in Quinte West!

Looking for a caffeine boost but not a coffee fan? Lola’s Café’s Sweet Victory Herbal Iced Tea is the answer.

This tea is light and refreshing, and if you get it straight up you’ll have a less sweet version of this iced bevvy that’ll still bring the flavour.

Lola’s Café also offers organic produce and sandwiches and salads to make the perfect pairing to your iced tea.

Hot summer days are no match for this shake, which comes in three classic flavors: vanilla, chocolate and strawberry.
