Sunday's weather was far from ideal to think about the outdoors with a grey sky, rain falling and slush on the roads.

All of that didn't stop the steady crowd of people that attended the 21st Annual Quinte Sportsman, Boat and RV Show at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre this past weekend, where they could find and learn about the latest in outdoor equipment and recreational vehicles.

The event normally attracts about 10,000 people over three days.

There were the various displays in the centre's four arenas -- trucks, riding lawn mowers and other yard equipment, along with the boats and recreational vehicles.

Event co-organizer Catherine Cox said even though there are a lot of the same products, every booth is different at the show, for example the booths with trailers.

"They're not the same kind of booth, they are all different.  There's a patio on the side of a trailer -- that's amazing!"

Cox continued, "The boats, some of the engines that are on them and the equipment that comes with them, they're all so different."

There were a number of other items at the show that were sold along the centre's upper level.

"There's a lifestyle section where you can find some different meats, chesses, purses, essential oils, cookware, you can find a little bit of everything here.", said Cox.

A number of outdoor services and events were also promoted this past weekend, including some area campgrounds and the B1 Fishing Zone.

Visitors also had the chance to experience trying out some of the new equipment at the pool.

Cox added the event is popular with those people that do attend because it's affordable.

"A lot of people are saying they do love the show. It is something different and it does mean spring is here and because our price is so cheap, people love it because it does give you a chance to go out and not spend a fortune to go see something."

Admission prices ranged from eight dollars for seniors and ten dollars for adults, with children under twelve allowed in for free.

When asked about planning for next year's show, Cox said she and her team are already doing just that and would not reveal any details -- only that a lot of 'good changes' are expected.
