Another historic win was achieved for the Quinte Skyhawks organization this past weekend.

The U14 team became the first squad under the Skyhawks banner to win a playoff game at any level, dumping the Waterloo Predators 13-6 on Saturday at Mary Anne Sills Field.

Skyhawks president Peter Gabriel said team defence was key in the victory, shutting down the Predators offence and holding them to only one score off a kickoff return.

Running back Marko Fobert notched a touchdown on a 25-yard run, while quarterback Javier Vaquerano scored on a 12-yard outside run for the Skyhawks.

With this victory, the Skyhawks will be heading to Guelph to take on the Jr. Gryphons in the semi finals of the Ontario Fall Football League postseason next week.
