The Tyendinaga Territory Police Service is investigating someone using the force's name in a Twitter account.
The person has tweeted controversial comments attributed to the police about Tyendinaga resident Seth Lefort and a British Columbia hereditary chief.
Tyendinaga Police Chief Jason Brant said in a post on the police service's Facebook Page the local police service doesn't have a Twitter account, and he asked the public to disregard anything on Twitter bearing its name.
He added the incidents are being investigated, since it's a criminal offence to impersonate police at any level, personal or online.
