Truss Infuses Care Into Its Community
From the outset, Truss aimed to understand their consumers to create products that resonated in terms of flavour, potency, and usage. Their consumers have been a part of the creation process whether through co-creation, community input, or focus groups.
As well as including the consumer in its product creation, Truss also prioritizes giving back to the community. On top of having an immediate impact on the Bay of Quinte region community through job creation, Truss has:
- Donated $20,000 to Gleaners Food Bank in Belleville
- Hosted a food and clothing drive for the Three Oaks Foundation
- Hosted a sock drive for Kingston’s Harm Reduction Program
- Partnered with Indspire, a national charity that invests in the education of Indigenous people, to create a bursary within their Building Brighter Futures program, providing financial aid to Indigenous post-secondary students in and around Belleville
Truss’s Indspire bursary supports students enrolled in the sciences or supply chain management, which could prepare them for careers in the cannabis sector. Truss provides opportunities for internships and placements at the Belleville production facility once students are of legal age.
Truss also sits on the Advisory Committee for the Cannabis program at Loyalist College. Currently, five students have received placements at Truss through this partnership.
