The new Lotto 649 Gold Ball draw proved to be a big winner for a Peterborough County man.

Michael McGlashan of Lakehurst won $1 million in the September 24 draw.

The 59-year-old checked his ticket three days after hearing on the radio that someone in Peterborough had won the million and realized he was the lucky ticket holder.

McGlashan plans to make some investments and is thinking of retiring.

The winning ticket was bought at Chemong Variety in Peterborough.
