Editor's note: This story has been edited to reflect the fact the tractor trailer was leaving, not entering, Quinte towing.

Traffic in west end Belleville slowed considerably Tuesday morning due to what looked like a strong police presence – but wasn’t.

A tractor trailer loaded with OPP cars blocked the eastbound lanes of Dundas Street West for more than an hour when it got stuck leaving Quinte Towing.

The floor of the flatbed, which was carrying three OPP cruisers and two cars, wedged on the sidewalk as the truck emerged from the facility on the south side of Dundas Street after picking up a vehicle.

Quinte Towing hooked the trailer up to the winches of two tow trucks to haul the stranded truck over the sidewalk lip, but with no success.

The tractor trailer was eventually freed by 10:30 a.m.
