Property stolen from the Bancroft area has been recovered by the OPP.

Officers with the Peterborough County detachment spotted a parked vehicle with a trailer containing three personal watercraft -- from the Bancroft area -- on Highway 28 on Tuesday around 11:45 a.m.

An investigation that turned up a number of other stolen items including cell phones, along with meth and break-in instruments inside the vehicle -- which also turned out to be stolen from the Toronto area.

The investigation was part of a wellbeing check of the vehicle's occupants.

As a result, 38-year-old Shawna Newton and 35-year-old Michael Sousa -- both of Toronto -- face numerous charges including:

• Possession of a Schedule I substance-methamphetamine

• Possession of property obtained by crime-over $5000 (x4)

• Possession of property obtained by crime-under $5000

• Possession break-in instruments

Sousa faces additional charges of obstructing a peace officer and failing to comply with a release order.

The co-accused were scheduled to appear in a Peterborough court later on Wednesday.
