A new event will give area residents the chance to see some of the best a couple new restaurants in the area have to offer.
The first Belleville's Best Spicy Food competition will take place Tuesday at Royal Haveli Flavours of India at the corner of North Front Street and Bell Boulevard.
Joining the host restaurant will be Chilangos Mexican Restaurant and Boston Pizza Belleville.
Mitch Panciuk of Boston Pizza said he wanted to create an event that raised awareness of new restaurants opening in the city. He hopes the competition becomes a regular event in the city, hosted at different establishments.
The contest will be judged by a panel of four: celebrity judges from the local media, Lorne Brooker of CJBQ and Bill Glisky of Inquinte.ca along with Belleville Fire Chief Mark MacDonald and Nurse Donna Moher.
The food will be judged on heat, overall taste and presentation.
Food will be served at about 2:15 p.m.
