Quinte Area residents needing access to home care or assessment for nursing home placement are now contacting a different agency.
The South East LHIN assumed those responsibilities from the Community Care Access Centre on Wednesday, and C-C-A-C staff are now LHIN employees.
However, LHIN Chief Executive Officer Paul Huras says the contact information stays the same, and enquiries can also be made in person at the former C-C-A-C office at the Bayview Mall in Belleville.
The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care decided to have LHIN's across the province take over the Community Care Access Centres' duties, and little to no difference in service is expected.
Almost $600,000 annual savings are expected in the local area.
