Six-player deal swung between local OJHL arch-rivals

The Trenton Golden Hawks have secured four top players from their arch-rivals.

The G-Hawks announced this weekend they have swung a trade with the Wellington Dukes to acquire Ryan Cutler, Corbin Roach, Lucas Lapalm, and Barrett Joynt in a deal that sent overage forward Joe Weber and goaltender Ethan Fraser to Wellington.

With both Roach and Lapalm being from the Quinte region and Joynt being a four-year veteran of the Dukes from north of Kingston, G-Hawks interim GM Todd Reid stated this fits the organization’s mission to achieve success with local talent.

All players involved in the deal just came off playing against each other in the OJHL’s Southeast Conference Final in the spring, with Trenton winning the series in five games over Wellington.
