Second person killed from snowmobile going through ice

For the second time in two days a person has died going through the ice on a snowmobile in the region.

A snowmobile went through the ice on Pusey Lake in the municipality of Highlands East on Saturday with an operator and a passenger on board.

The female passenger was able to get out of the water to safety, Bancroft OPP report, but the driver did not.

Robert Bell, 53, of Mount Albert, was pronounced dead on teh scene after members of the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit recovered his body on Monday.

The investigation is continuing.

On Friday 16-year-old girl Sarah Lumsden from Lindsay was killed after the snowmobile she was riding on fell through the ice on Lake Scugog.
