The sale of the former Sonoco paper mill in Quinte West has been finalized.
Broker of Record Jamie Troke informed our newsroom by e-mail of the sale late Wednesday afternoon -- it was announced two weeks ago that the 180,000 square foot facility was under new ownership.
At that time, Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison described the sale as a big win for the area because it would revitalize the plant and add several jobs, while making use of raw material
The new owner was said to be Toronto-area company All Season Fencing, which produces plastic fencing using all recycled material.
Plans were also announced for a major rebuild on the site with 30 people to be hired.
