Students in the public school board will be starting their school year after Labour Day and ending it just before the end of June if the board approves a recommended calendar Monday night.
The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board will be asked at its regular board meeting to approve the calendar which includes PA Days on Sept. 3 – the first day of school – and June 30, the last day.
The proposed calendar was the most popular of three options presented in a survey that drew 2,100 respondents; a similar survey last year received only 750 responses.
The proposed calendar does contain some PA Day changes as a result of feedback from stakeholders, nothing that PA Days originally scheduled for the end of October and November will now be at the beginning of those months.
The board meets Monday at 7 p.m. through Google Meet; the meeting will also be streamed on Youtube.
