The executive director of the Quinte Museum of Natural History has been awarded a provincial award for leadership.
Deanna Way received the Ontario Museum Association Promising Leadership Award of Excellence at the awards ceremony on Friday.
The award highlights individuals in the museum sector who show outstanding potential and contribute significantly to Ontario's museum community.
Way's leadership at QMNH has been marked by growth, community engagement, and a fresh approach to showcasing natural history, said Suzanne Andrews, chair of the QMNH board of directors.
"We are proud of Deanna's dedication and innovative strategies to facilitate educational opportunities and cultural engagement in our community," she said.
Under Way's direction, the museum has introduced brand new exhibitions, educational programs, and community partnerships, amplifying its visibility and impact in the Bay of Quinte region.
"I am deeply honoured by this recognition," Way expressed. "It's a reflection of our team's commitment to making the Quinte Museum of Natural History an essential part of the community."
