The Quinte Figure Skating Club has released its list of award winners for 2022-23.
The winners were honoured at the club's awards night event on June 9th.

Quinte Figure Skating Club Celebrates Skaters and Longtime Members
Quinte Figure Skating Club held its annual banquet and awards night on June 09, 2023. The Club had a highly successful year marked by its Canskate program exceeding the national standards as established by Skate Canada. The Club also started a synchronized skating program with the launch of a prenovice
team, Fire On Ice.
Awards were given to skaters who achieved excellence during the past year in all club programs.
PreCanskater of the Year- Dax Shaw
Canskater of the Year- Felicity Jarrell
Canskate Spirit- William Griffin
Canskate Spirit- Penelope Perks
Junior Skater Most Sportsmanlike- Chloe Jane Wise
Junior Skater Most Improved- Lauren Pell
Junior Skater Most Dedicated- Abby Scott
Intermediate Skater Most Sportsmanlike- Zoe Tsarouhas
Intermediate Skater Most Improved- Hannah Norton
Intermediate Skater Most Dedicated- Serafina Moore
Sr. Skater Most Sportsmanlike- Tenly Paul
Sr. Skater Most Improved- Avery Scriver
Sr. Skater Most Dedicated- Chloe MacLean
Pride and Passion Award- Achillia Kanaras
Star Skater of the Year- Sophie Baker
Program Assistant Award- Sara Holt
Quinte Skaters Achillia Kanaras, Kathleen Oliver and Marlow Slatter were recognized for achieving Skate Canada Gold Tests. These are the highest test standards by Skate Canada. These three skaters were also recognized as graduating skaters as they head off to post-secondary studies in September.
The Club also recognized three members who have reached a milestone of 50-year memberships. Janice Beer and Wanda Coons have been club members for 50 years and are coaches with the club. Janet Smallman also was recognized for this milestone achievement. Janet is a Skate Canada judge/evaluator and has contributed numerous volunteer hours to the sport. Kim Crothers was recognized for her 37 years of coaching with the club as she retires this year from the sport. These individuals were congratulated with certificates from Mayor Ellis and MPP and Minister Todd Smith for their incredible contribution to the sport in our community.
