Port Hope man arrested after investigation of early August crash

A Northumberland County man has been charged in connection with a fatal collision early last month.

An OPP investigation has resulted in the arrest of 39-year-old Jason Bickle of Port Hope with operation while impaired, dangerous operation and dangerous operation causing death.

The charges were laid by Northumberland OPP after a single-vehicle crash that happened on Sylvan Glen Road in Port Hope on August 4, just before 11:00 p.m.

That vehicle leaft the road and struck a ditch that resulted in the death of the vehicle's passenger, 23-year-old Serena Shaw of Hamilton Township.

Bickle is scheduled to appear in a Cobourg court on November 3.
