A new store at the Quinte Mall is looking to bring out the inner kid in its customers.

Mind Games, a speciality game store with 15 stores across Canada, opened at the former location of the clothing store Aeropostale Aug. 1.  A location is also opening in Peterborough.

Store Manager Tiffany Young said new stock will continue to come in over the coming weeks.

“There are lots of strategy games, family games, lots of novelty items too like the pop figurines that are really popular right now.”

Customers will be able to test the store’s new inventory with free family game nights on Mondays, with no purchase necessary.

There will also be nights for customers to bring in their own Dungeons and Dragons set to play with other players.

“A lot of people have approached me, that they don’t have a place to play these games, so we’re opening it up for them to do that,” Young said.

Customers who make a purchase in-store on any game night can show their receipt at Teavana in the mall to receive 10 per cent off their order.

Young said since the store is part of a larger company, it can offer a wide range of competitively-priced games and ones unique to Mind Games for customers to play in-store.

“We’re all here because it’s a game store and we all love games.  So we all get to open up one of everything and get to play the games.”
