Night 1 of Empire Rockfest is in the books!

In an epic Thursday night throw back to the 90s TLC, 112 and Jenny Berggren of Ace Of Base had fans singing along to all their favourite songs.

"A large exuberant crowd danced and sang along to one hit song after another all evening," said Andy Forgie of the Empire Theatre.

The three-day outdoor concert series switches from pop, hip-hop and R&B to rock and roll Friday night.  Canadian rockers Headstones, The Tea Party and Crown Lands are set to rock the downtown core on Friday.  Back by popular demand Kingston's The Glorious Sons will shine on the Empire stage again Saturday night along with the Blues Stones and Jake Clemons Band.

For those who have ordered tickets they must pick them up at the Empire Theatre Box office at 321 Front St. ahead of the show and not at the gate.  The box office is open on each day of the festival from 11 a.m. straight through to showtime.

Forgie says everyone arriving at the gate will have their bags searched ahead of the event.  No outside food, drink or lawn chairs are allowed and there will be no re-admittance to the site.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. each night and the shows start at 7 p.m.
