On the day forward Drake Batherson was honoured as AHL player of the week, he was recalled to the NHL by the Senators.

The 20-year-old from New Minas, NS., has played in 14 games with Belleville this season and has tallied 20 points (seven goals), which leads the AHL this season.

Batherson registered six points in Friday night's matchup against the Toronto Marlies, a Belleville franchise record.

A fourth round pick in 2017, this is Batherson's first call-up to the NHL.

He will likely make his NHL debut Thursday against the Detroit Red Wings.

The Belleville Senators are back in action Wednesday Nov. 14 at the CAA arena against the Utica Comets at 7 p.m.
