Northumberland OPP has put out a plea for the public's assistance on social media into an ongoing homicide investigation.

The OPP released a video on Twitter encouraging people to come forward if they have information into the death of Boyd Woods back on May 19.

The 72-year old Cramahe Township resident's body was found without vital signs by Northumberland OPP officers that night in an outbuilding located on a residential property on 14407 County Road 2, near Trenear Road east of Colborne.

Investigators said he had obvious signs of trauma, but the nearly-four month-long investigation has not produced any suspects.

Criminal Investigations Branch Detective Inspector Serge Acay said in the video posted Thursday that even the smallest piece of information could be key in helping to resolve cases such as this.

"You may not think that what you saw or what you know is important, but even the smallest piece of information can be a vital clue," Acay stated.

If you have any tips or information to report, you're asked to please contact Northumberland OPP or, if you wish, you can provide your tip anonymously through Crimestoppers.

The OPP investigation continues with the help of the Criminal Investigations Branch.
