Belleville's newest walk-in clinic celebrated their grand opening this week.
Great Lakes Walk-In Clinic and Belleville Pharmacy has opened their doors at 690 Sidney Street, on the south-west corner of Bell Boulevard and Sidney Street.
Local entrepreneur Bobbi Arul opened the combination of clinic and pharmacy to better provide complete care to their patients.
Both businesses are open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and can provide non-urgent care to walk-in patients.
The medical team, which includes four physicians, are equipped to treat medical issues like:
- allerygy symptoms of nose and eyes
- blood glucose and blood pressure checks
- bug bites, poison ivy, eczema, psoriasis or mild sunburn
- cold sores or cankers on facial area.
- cold, upper respiratory infection, sore throat or flu-like symptoms
- ear infection, earache or swimmers ear, hearing tests
- eye infection, pinkeye or styes
- female urinary tract infection
- head lice
- medication renewal (No controlled or addictive medications)
- minor burns and rashes
- new onset cough (less than 10 days)
- pregnancy test, birth control renewal, birth control advice or IUD prescription
- sinus infection or sinusitis
- test results
- work notes or medical certificates
- referral to specialist or allied health profession (eg. massage therapy, physiotherapy)
Arul states that the clinic is not intended to replace the care of a family doctor, but serve as an alternative for non-emergency situations. The philosophy for care is similar to their sister clinic operating in Quinte West. Check out their facebook page for exclusion criteria.
The medical team urges patients to check in, and relax. Their goal is to have you in front of a doctor shortly after you arrive.
