A new liquor store is coming to the east end of Belleville.

A building permit was issued last month for an $860,000 LCBO outlet at 150 Herchimer Avenue, at Dundas Street East.

There is no information yet on when construction will begin, or when the store, in the northeast corner of the Dewe's Grocery store parking lot will open, but it will be over 6,100 square feet.

It was one of 75 projects worth $8-million  approved by city staff in August, increasing the value of building activity in Belleville so far this year to almost $80-million.

That is up from around $36-million after the first eight months of 2015.
