An inmate from the Regional Treatment Centre at Millhaven Institution, southeast of Napanee, has died.
 
A Correctional Service of Canada news release said Robert Simpson, 86, passed away while in custody, from apparent natural causes, on Wednesday.
 
He had been serving a sentence of 12 years for indecent assault and rape since March, 2017.
 
The correctional service will review the circumstances of his death, and Simpson's family, along with the police and the coroner, have been notified.
