It was a bittersweet result for a local skater over the weekend.

Trennt Michaud of Trenton and his partner Evelyn Walsh of London finished in second place in the pairs compeition at the Canadian Tire National Figure Skating Championships in Ottawa.

The duo finished behind defending pairs champions Kirsten Moore-Towers of St. Catherines and Michael Marinaro of Sarnia.

Moore-Towers and Marinaro will now prepare to compete for Canada at the Winter Olympics in Beijing next month.
