The CAO of Lower Trent Conservation is looking forward to improvements in the provincial Conservation Authorities Act.
The government passed legislation this week updating the act, guiding the conservation of Ontario's watersheds.
Glenda Rodgers says the changes strengthen the authority's role in hazards lands regulations, and there will be larger fines and more tools to enforce those rules.
She also says the watershed management roles of conservation authorities will be improved, and there will be a more defined role around climate change.
