Local man sentenced for child pornography and other offences

A 51-year-old man has been sentenced on child pornography and other charges in Belleville court.

The man, whose name and hometown were never released to protect the identity of his victims, pled guilty to one count each of making child pornography, possession of child pornography and voyeurism on Nov. 28.

Hastings County Crown Attorney Lee Burgess said in an email to InQuinte.ca he was sentenced to 18 months in jail, and his name was placed on the sexual offender registry on Wednesday.

The man was also ordered to provide a sample to the DNA databank, received a five-year weapon prohibition and was ordered not to be in public places where children could be present for the next 10 years.
