Lake Ontario water levels in the Quinte Area will likely increase slightly in the next few days, with more rain dominating the weather picture.
A release from Quinte Conservation said a series of storms will bring widespread precipitation, and there is also the potential for storm surges because of strong southwest winds into Saturday.
The average lake water level as of Wednesday was 75.91 metres, and it has remained relatively stable over the past week.
Quinte Conservation said Lake Ontario may rise by a small amount this weekend because of the rain and high inflows from Lake Erie, and it will remain near seasonal highs for several weeks.
Outflows from the lake were increased on Thursday to 10,400 cubic metres per second, equal to the record high outflows in 2017, and the flood warning for both Lake Ontario and the Bay of Quinte, issued almost a month ago, remains in effect.
