It’s starting to look like Christmas.
Jane Forrester Park by Myers Pier in Belleville has officially been lit up, with Christmas light displays being seen from end to end.
Councillor Garnet Thompson explained that the event is all about getting folks in the holiday spirit.
“When you turn all these lights on it’s quite an awe, and you know the music adds to it.”
“But the kids love it, we got displays here, people take pictures, you see the smile on the kid’s faces and the parents, you know that’s what this is all about.”
The event has been going on for a number of years and sees a good feedback from the community, with Thompson having said that in between 1000 and 1500 people attended last year, and he expects much the same for this year.
The Christmas light display can be seen throughout the season, in addition, every Friday night from now until Christmas, the park will have music and free carriage rides.
Photos from many of the displays can be seen in gallery below.
