Correctional Service Canada is reporting a death at a medium-security facility west of Kingston.

Joseph Meagher, 62, an inmate from Bath Institution died while in custody yesterday of apparent natural causes.

He was serving a sentence of a little more than five years for sexual interference, sexual assault and possession of child pornography since August 2016.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified -- Correctional Services Canada will review the circumstances and notify the police and the coroner, as in any case involving the death of an inmate.
