No one was injured, but a house has been lost to fire in Tyendinaga Township.

Township fire chief James Oliver confirmed that the blaze began in a garage at a home at 613 Cross Road near Roslin early Friday morning and extended into the attic of the home.

Crews from Mohawk Fire and Belleville Station 4 were called in for tanker support to the fully involved structure fire.

Oliver stated firefighters brought the flames under control in about an hour.

The homeowners all escaped with no injuries thanks to a working smoke alarm which alerted them of the fire.

An investigation into what caused the blaze is ongoing, and a damage estimate is still being determined.
