Huge names in Canadian rock set the Empire stage on fire Friday night.

Hugh Dillion of recent "Yellowstone" and "Mayor Of Kingstown" fame, made his Empire Rockfest debut with his band Headstones.

"They came, they conquered, they kicked ass," said Andy Forgie, of Belleville's Empire Theatre.  "Dillion and his band played an electrifying and frenzied set, to the delight of their many fans.  A highlight was Dillion jumping from the stage, opening the security gates, running into the crowd and performing a Tragically Hip number."

The night also included The Tea Party and Crown Lands both of which also rocked the large crowd that filled Empire Square, Forgie added.

The three day outdoor music festival concludes Saturday with The Glorious Sons, the Blues Stones and Jake Clemons.
