Balmy temperatures drew Quinte residents in droves to the great outdoors on Family Day.
Quinte Conservation’s event at the Frink Centre was slammed with families eager to tour the surrounding facilities, roast marshmallows and hot dogs as well as take in activities and live music.
Happy but frazzled organizers reported they had expected a crowd of maybe 400 people, but it was estimated attendance for the event was easily over 1,500 people.
A $5 cover charge for adults was levied with the proceeds going to support the revival of the Wetland Ecology Boardwalk at the facility.
