A fire at the former Sonoco plant in Trenton suffered about $80,000 in damage.
Quinte West fire crews were called and tankers from four other stations were used to put out the two alarm blaze at the All Seasons Fencing factory on Tuesday around 4:00 p.m.
Fire Chief John Whelan informed our newsroom that construction people were cutting up steel in the older part of the building when embers and sparks got up on to the pulp and started the fire that took hour and a half to extinguish.
OPP directed traffic around the area and EMS and Hydro One also attended the scene.
25 employees got out safely -- the fire crews were given for the job they did to prevent any injuries and performing at a time when three other calls were happening.
The business is still operating as the newer section of the building remains intact.
