Two local girl's basketball teams have come home with silver medals from provincial competition.

The junior Nicholson Catholic Crusaders took home silver at the Girls 'A' OFSAA tournament in Walkerton, falling 53-44 to St. Mary's Catholic High School of Brockville in the final game.

The senior Centennial Chargers fell 46-34 to Sir Winston Churchill of St. Catherines in the 'AA' championship final in Stratford.

The Chargers also congratulated their three graduating players, Katie McFaul, Kayla Martindale and Lily Haslett for their outstanding contributions to the school and the team.
