Six Belleville Police dispatchers have been recognized by the Police Services Board for their role in a murder investigation up north.
The dispatchers received certificates of commendation in helping Deep River Police make an arrest last December.
Deep River Police Sgt. Matthew Barker sent a letter to the BPS commending the dispatchers' professional communication skills for assisting his officers with information to safeguard multiple crime scenes and apprehend the suspect.
That dedication and attention to detail was important to recognize and BPS Chief Mike Callaghan stated it is truly gratifying to see that other policing agencies are acknowledging the unheralded work dispatchers do.
The six dispatchers are as follows;
Ashiliee Brown
Kris Gauthier
Lindsay Rhodes
Darrin Thompson
Kelly Thompson
Claude Vaillancourt
Police in Deep River have contracted with Belleville for dispatch services for many years.
Photos of five of the dispatchers are below. Gauthier was unable to attend the meeting.
