Belleville Transit announces operational changes to bus services

In order to provide the utmost safety to riders and drivers while being committed to essential services, Belleville Transit is making some operational adjustments.
City transit manager Paul Buck said all passengers must load and exit through the rear doors of the bus, except those with mobility issues who need the ramp to get on and off the bus.
In addition, passengers are being asked to find a seat that is not in the vicinity of the driver.
Buck added that in order to further protect drivers and ensure a safe social distance, they will not being accepting fare payment at this time.
He asks city residents to not use the bus unless it is an absolute necessity and do not board the bus if you are ill or exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19.
