The oldest co-educational day and boarding school in Canada is celebrating its 160th anniversary.
Albert College held a special flag raising ceremony in front of the senior school on Dundas Street West Saturday, with local dignitaries including Belleville Mayor Taso Christopher. Guests also enjoyed a barbecue and fun fair activities to mark the occasion.
This year, the college welcomed 264 students ranging from pre-kindergarten to grade 12 and post-graduate from 20 countries. It's home to 93 boarding students between grades seven and 12.
Albert College's upcoming activities include the Shewfelt Lecture Dec. 6, the Anniversary Ball April 29, 2017 and the Davidson '59 Memorial Golf Tournament June 9, 2017. To learn more, visit www.albertcollege.ca.
