A person has been taken into custody after they barricaded themselves in a residence in Campbellford for several hours on Wednesday.

Members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Emergency Response Team (ERT), and the Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) responded to a residence in the Garry St / Oak St / Pellissier St area around 9 am.

A person had barricaded themselves within a residence at that location.

After several hours, police apprehended the person, and they were taken into custody without incident.

The investigation is continuing, and the Northumberland OPP wish to thank the public for their patience in the situation.

No name has been released and there is no word yet on possible charges.
