Mortimer, Lita 

Lita (nee Gallipeau) Mortimer was born in North Bay the last of seven children. She attended school there, and eventually worked at the Military Base, where she met her husband John.  In the summer of 1957, they went to Germany with John’s squadron. Stationed at Baden for three years, they travelled extensively throughout Europe, where their first two sons John and Chris were born. They returned to Canada in 1960, where their third son Mark was born in Belleville. Lita and John lived in Trenton, Montreal, Winnipeg, Prince Edward Island, and finally settled in Trenton in 1972  on the Bay of Quinte where they built their home and resided for 44 years. During this time, they established many friendships throughout the Quinte area where John ran his business out of his home. Lita was 86 when she passed away at her home on Friday, August 5th. She is survived by her husband, John, her sons John (Nancy), Christopher and Mark (Maria). Loving grandma of six grandchildren, Caroline, Stephen, Julia, Samuel, Ariana, Lorelei and two great-grandchildren, Gwyneth and Winifred.  The family will receive friends at the Weaver Family Funeral Home - West, 170 Dundas Street West, Trenton on Monday, August 15, 2016 from 6 PM until 8 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Our Lady of Peace Chapel, 8 Wing, 91 Namao Dr, Opposite the RCAF Museum on Tuesday at 11 AM.   Reception to immediately follow the service in the Chapel Hall where all are welcome to join the family.  If desired, Memorial Donations to a Charity of your Choice would be appreciated by the family.  Online condolences at www.weaverfuneralhomes.com
