MELKERT, Johannes 'John' – peacefully at Crown Ridge Retirement Residence on Wednesday, August 24th, 2016. John Melkert of Trenton in his 87th year. Beloved husband of the late Nina (Hudgins) Melkert. Loved father of Yvonne (Jim) of London, Ron of Trenton and Don (Cathy) of Metcalfe. Ever remembered grandfather of Phil (Kendra), Adam (Kirsten), Brandon (Emily), Cory and Mikaela; great-grandfather of Amy and James. Will be missed by several nieces and nephews in Holland and Canada. Predeceased by his parents Theo and Helen (Broekman) Melkert; siblings Dinie Oldehanhof, Ted and Bill Melkert. Remembered by sisters-in-law Betty and Bunny. The family will receive friends at the RUSHNELL FUNERAL CENTRE, 60 Division Street, Trenton on Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, August 29th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior.
