How to go about postal disruptions in Napanee

By Hailey MacDonald Oct 5, 2025 | 9:09 AM

During the national strike of Canada Post workers, Canada Postm mail and parcels will not be processed or delivered, and no new mail will be accepted.

The Town asks residents to not send payments or time-sensitive documents by mail and to use alternate options instead. Failure to receive bills does not excuse people from payment or from penalties for late payment. Residents are responsible for paying bills and parking tickets on time.

Parking Tickets:

Online through the Town’s website or in-person at 99 Advance Avenue during office hours, Mon to Fri, 9am to 4pm.

Property Taxes:

Credit card payment, online banking, pre-authorized payment plans, directly at most financial institutions, in-person at 99 Advance Avenue during office hours, Mon to Fri, 9am to 4pm.

If you want to verity whether a recent property tax payment was received, please call 613.354.3351 or email taxes@greaternapanee.com.

Utilities:

Residential/Commercial customers are billed bi-monthly. The next bi-monthly bills are expected to be issued by Oct 31, 2025, and will be due Nov 26, 2025.

Bulk Water/Hauled Sewage/Large Industrial Customers: Bulk water accounts, septage haulers, and some larger industrial users are billed monthly. The monthly bills were issued this week and will be due by Oct 29, 2025. Due to the limited number of customers on monthly billing, the Utilities Clerks will be reaching out to those customers directly.

If the postal strike is still ongoing after Oct 31, 2025, the town encourages account holders to contact the Utilities Department at 613.354.3351 to confirm their account balance.

Credit card payment, internet or telephone banking, pre-authorized payment plans , and in-person at 99 Advance Avenue during office hours, Mon to Fri, 9am to 4pm, are alternative methods available to pay utility bills.
