Front Street in downtown Belleville will be closed to traffic on weekends this summer.
For the first time in Downtown history, The Downtown District BIA is facilitating the first-ever Downtown weekend street closures on Front Street between Victoria Street and Campbell Street.
From June 23rd to September 10th, Fridays evenings to Mondays mornings for 12 weekends in a row, both lanes from Victoria Street to Campbell Street will be closed, with Campbell Street remaining open to traffic. Local residents and visitors will be able to hit the streets and enjoy signature events such as the Jazz Festival, Downtown @ Dusk, and Al Fresco, returning for its fourth year. New and unique events will be joining the street closure lineup with more details to come.
Additionally, The City of Belleville in partnership with the BIA plans to enhance the downtown standardized patio spaces to solidify the Downtown District as a culinary and entertainment destination of choice for residents and visitors. With approximately 30 new street patios/parklets, these universally accessible patios will create new community spaces for small businesses and patrons to enjoy.
