Belleville man arrested on outstanding warrants following traffic stop

On December 19th at 6:58am, Belleville Police observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and conducted a traffic stop.

Officers spoke to the male driver, and through investigation, learned that the male had two outstanding warrants by the Belleville Police Service for Failure to Appear and Theft under $5000.

It was also learned the male had an outstanding warrant by Lennox and Addington OPP.

As a result, a 45-year-old Bellville man was arrested on the strength of the Belleville Police warrants and was additionally charged with offences under the Highway Traffic Act.

He was held for a bail hearing.
