Assault charge laid in Belleville domestic

A Belleville man was charged with assault following a domestic incident on Wednesday night.

On January 14th at 9:58pm, Belleville Police attended a residence in the city’s west end regarding a domestic dispute.

Upon arrival, it was reported a male attended the residence of a female, where a verbal argument escalated.

During the incident, the male reportedly pushed the female.

As a result, a 37-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with assault. He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in March.

No name was released.
