Willy had come to Canada in the late 1950’s in search of work in construction but landed him working in Tobacco with friends of his Belgian family. At that time, he purchased the farm on Godolphin Road. He returned to Belgium to marry Lucienne on March 11, 1959 and returned to Canada leaving their families behind. They grew tobacco for 24 years. Since that time, a hobby of building homes ensued which continued to other real estate avenues. His most important loves in life were his family, working hard on his farm, his business, cutting wood, and his love for Cocoa, the cat. We would like to thank Burnbrae Gardens for urgently accepting Willy into their care, Warkworth Place for taking care of him in his final weeks. All the staff were absolutely wonderful in caring for Willy and giving comfort to him and his family.
