Corporal Gilbert Murphy “Gil & Gibby” CD Aerospace Telecommunications and Information Systems Technician at Aerospace Telecommunications and Engineering Support Squadron (ATESS)... God called Gilbert home to sing and play with the angels suddenly after an accident on Sunday November 26th, 2017 one day after celebrating his 47th birthday. Gibby is the cherished son of Connie "Mike" & the late Lowell Murphy. Gilly will be lovingly remembered by his spouse and silly girl Nancy York. Beloved brother and friend to Kim, Tracey and Michael "Mike" Murphy. Sadly missed by his niece Haley and his nephews Christopher, Nicholas and Zachary. Fondly remembered by his many family members and friends across Canada and the USA. Gilbert recently completed 5 years in the Regular Force and spent 22 years serving as a Reservist with the Cadet Instructor Cadre, currently serving with the 704 Air Cadet Sqn. and a number of years volunteering with Search and Rescue, PEI and with the Royal Canadian Legion.
Visitation will be held at the WEAVER Life Centre - 29 Bay St., Trenton on Friday, December 1st, 2017 from 4 - 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Our Lady of Peace Chapel, 91 Namao Drive, CFB Trenton on Saturday, December 2nd, 2017 at 11am. Cremation to follow. Interment in Prince Edward Island will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Montague Branch #8 or the 704 Air Cadet Sqn.
