Stunt driving charges laid over weekend



Friday evening, Mar. 16, Bancroft O.P.P. stopped a motor vehicle travelling at over 130kms/h in a posted 80km/h zone on Highway 28.

The driver, Patrick Linkletter, 20, of Golden Lake has been charged with Race a motor vehicle - Excessive Speed contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The vehicle was seized and impounded for seven days and Linkletter was issued a seven day drivers licence suspension.

Linkletter was issued a summons to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft Ontario on May 2, 2017

On Saturday morning, Mar. 17 Central Hastings O.P.P stopped a car for speeding on Highway #62 near Smith Road in the City of Belleville. 

The vehicle was travelling 142 kilometres per hour in a posted 80 kilometre zone. 

As a result, the 36 year old male driver of Emsdale was charged with Operate a Motor Vehicle While Performing a Stunt - Speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. 

His driver's licence was suspended and his vehicle was impounded, both for a period of seven days.

The 2nd run of C. Smith bus 893 is running 20 minutes late to Batawa this morning.
