Tenants next to Royal Hotel in Picton allowed to return
Renovations to a historic building in Picton still can't resume, even though one of the restrictions imposed on the work a month ago has been lifted.
An unsafe building order was issued at the Royal Hotel on Main Street on April 19th after the east wall was damaged, and the neighbouring building was deemed unsafe, resulting in the tenants having to leave.
Prince Edward County official Ashley Stewart says repairs have been completed on the wall, and the order has been removed.
The tenants, one in an apartment, and the other, the Coach's Bar and Grill, were allowed back into the neighbouring building on Friday.
However, a Ministry of Labour Stop Work order is still in effect at the Royal Hotel site, and the construction is on hold until it's cancelled.
