Pair charged in separate drinking and driving incidents in Prince Edward County
A pair of men from outside Prince Edward County will find themselves in Picton court in the coming weeks on impaired driving charges.
Prince Edward County OPP report officers spotted an off road vehicle with a driver not wearing a helmet shortly before midnight on Friday. The vehicle was travelling north on Higway 62 through the interesection at County Road 3 in Rossmore.
Brayden King, 18, of Belleville has been charged with Driving a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired by Alcohol and Driving with More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in 100 Milliliters of Blood. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, Picton on April 26.
Less than an hour later, officers report receiving a call regarding an impaired driver on Bethel Road between County Road 4 and Trumble Lane in Sophiasburgh.
The caller told police a white Volkswagen had been parked for more than ahalf hour with the engine running and lights on. The driver appeared to be passed out behind the wheel.
Christopher Gardner, 28, of Foxboro has been charged with Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle while Impaired by Alcohol and Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 Milliliters of Blood. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, Picton on May 3.
